Jumia was a monolith. With unbreakable pieces and dependencies flooding the infrastructure. In a join effort developers and operations got everything into containers. Both stateless and stateful applications: the challenges and pitfalls, we broke our application and rebuilt it to make it more scalable. With this change we revamped the way we do logging, metrics, deployment modes, started taking better advantage of hardware and made Jumia live in multiple datacenters.
